The Perth Mint and Australia Post are pleased to present the fourth release in this adorable series featuring native baby animals.
The coin and stamp both feature the echidna. Native to Australia, the echidna is recognised by its spiky coat and rambling walk.
Aluminium Bronze $1 Coin
This $1 coin is struck by The Perth Mint from high quality aluminium bronze.
Adorable Baby Echidna Reverse Design
The coin’s reverse depicts an irresistible image capturing the innocence of a baby echidna. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design also features a friendly Australian insect and delicately frosted representations of Australian bush flowers.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.
Official Australia Post Stamp
Affixed to the presentation envelope is an official Australia Post $2.60 stamp, which is postmarked for the first day of issue. The envelope also includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity and official number.
Beautifully Designed Presentation Envelope
The uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card that fits inside a similarly illustrated envelope with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
This wonderful stamp and coin cover series features iconic baby animals gloriously illustrated by designer Elise Martinson.
This series follows the same designs featured on the Australian Bush Babies II 1/2oz silver proof coins released by The Perth Mint in 2012 and 2013.
