The coin’s reverse depicts a green sea turtle swimming among coral. The inscriptions THE LAND DOWN UNDER and GREAT BARRIER REEF also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the weight and fineness of the coin.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date, and the monetary denomination on the obverse.

No more than 200 of The Land Down Under – Great Barrier Reef 2014 2oz Gold Special Editions will be issued by The Perth Mint.
