PERTH MINT INGOT SHOWCASES WORLD’S RAREST DIAMONDS
The Perth Mint is delighted to reveal a limited edition pink gold ingot which showcases seven stunning Argyle pink diamonds – the rarest diamonds in the world.
Unearthed and polished to perfection by Argyle Pink Diamonds, a selection of these pink gems have been meticulously hand set in a 1oz bed of pink gold crafted by The Perth Mint.
To enhance the prestigious pink theme of this product, The Perth Mint added copper to traditional yellow gold. “The pink hue of the ingot was specially created by our team of metallurgists to showcase the vibrant colour of the pink diamonds,” said Perth Mint Sales and Marketing Director, Ron Currie.
Argyle’s pink diamonds are formed more than a billion years ago deep below the earth’s surface under the ancient boab trees in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.
To symbolise the origin of these precious gemstones, the feature design of this distinctive investment piece depicts a native boab tree embedded with six Argyle pink diamonds, framed by the inscriptions BEYOND RARE and ARGYLE PINK DIAMONDS.
Representing the divine formation of these rare jewels, the reverse of the ingot displays intricate star clusters with a dazzling individual pink diamond in the centre surrounded by a starburst. To complete the celestial theme, The Perth Mint logo is sculptured within a stylised planetary sphere, headed by the individual serial number of each ingot.
The Argyle story is as breathtaking as the pink diamonds it produces. Generating more than 90% of the world’s pink diamonds, the company has been the hub of Western Australia’s diamond industry since 1985.
"As one of Australia’s most beautiful exports, we’re delighted to showcase Argyle Pink Diamonds in this exclusive release,” said Mr Currie.
Valued at $4,880, only 168 Argyle Pink Diamond Ingots will be released for sale worldwide.
“A luxury item of this nature and limited offering is sure to attract substantial interest from investors, collectors and diamond experts,” he continued.
Josephine Johnson, Manager Argyle Pink Diamonds, added: “I’m delighted that we have partnered with The Perth Mint to create this exclusive release. This is a great example of two Western Australian institutions sharing a combined passion for innovation, stunning artistry and quality craftsmanship. Apart from being very collectable and unique, the Argyle Pink Diamond Ingot is beautifully designed and is a true keepsake.”
Each ingot is prestigiously presented in a black gift box with a bevelled centre window within a stylised shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
