PERTH MINT ‘SNAPS UP’ NEW BULLION COIN DESIGN

The Perth Mint has introduced a new Saltwater Crocodile bullion coin to complement the popular animal theme of Australia’s official precious metals coin program.

Meticulously struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver, this latest bullion release is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

As the world’s largest living crocodilian and well-known as the reptile species most likely to attack a human, the Australian Saltwater Crocodile is the ultimate predator.

Reported to grow to lengths of up to seven meters, this formidable creature is found in habitats from northern Australia, through Southeast Asia, to the eastern coast of India.

Perth Mint Sales and Marketing Director, Ron Currie said that the Australian Saltwater Crocodile 1oz silver bullion coin is an affordable choice for investors seeking to add silver to their asset portfolios.

“The Perth Mint offers one of the world’s most extensive ranges of bullion coins and we’re delighted to add the iconic Saltwater Crocodile to our suite of fauna-themed investment pieces”, he commented.

The coin’s reverse features a large Saltwater Crocodile with its mouth open, displaying its sharp teeth. It also features the inscription AUSTRALIAN SALTWATER CROCODILE, the 2014 year-date, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark as well as coin specifications. The coin’s obverse portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,000,000 of this highly anticipated release worldwide in 2014. With a minimum order quantity of 25, these bullion coins are presented without capsules in protective tubes, each sealed with The Perth Mint's tamper evident security seal.

The 2014 Australian Saltwater Crocodile 1oz Silver Bullion Coin is available from The Perth Mint Bullion Trading Desk at 310 Hay Street in East Perth, on the BullionLine 1300 201 112 (Australia), +61 8 9421 7218 (International) or at www.perthmintbullion.com.
