Iconic Reverse Design with Colour
The coin’s reverse depicts a scene with colour from the popular anthem Waltzing Matilda, featuring a swagman in colour. A photographic portrait of Banjo Paterson is fringed by Banksia flowers, his signature and the inscription A.B. “BANJO” PATERSON 1864 - 1941. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appears in the design.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date, and the monetary denomination on its obverse.
Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 4,000 of these 1oz silver proof coins celebrating the 150th anniversary of Banjo Paterson.
