The Procoptodon is a giant extinct marsupial that was part of a range of megafaunal creatures, which inhabited Australia during the Pleistocene period.
The Procoptodon is the largest and most heavily built kangaroo ever to have existed. It has an unusually short, flat face and forward pointing eyes with long, clawed fingers and a single large toe on each foot. The height of the Procoptodon has been estimated at up to three metres.
The animal is thought to have existed in large numbers, suggesting that it was a very successful species until its decline and eventual extinction.
Forthcoming 2014 Releases: Diprotodon (January), Genyornis (March), Thylacoleo (May) and Megalania (July).
