Beginning with the characterful Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo, and followed by the Budgerigar, Regent Bowerbird, Rainbow Lorikeet and Splendid Fairy-Wren, this series is not one to miss. These colourful birds have been brought to life with stunning artistry and attention to detail, by the inspired hand of designer Natasha Muhl.
The Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo is a raucous, noisy, black parrot found throughout Australia where it lives in a variety of habitats – temperate forests, woodland and dense tropical rainforest.
Large flocks are often observed in the morning or just before dusk. Females have a banded orange/red tail, while the striking red panels on the male’s tail gives this species its name.
