2018 Kangaroo High Relief Design

The reverse of the coin depicts two kangaroos in a stylised rural landscape bordered by the inscription AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the 2018 year-date.
To capture the depth and wonderful details of the design, the coin has been struck with a high relief die which imparts an unusually deep impression on its extra thick blank.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination on its obverse.
