Proof Quality 99.99% Pure Gold
The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 10oz of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality.
Exquisite artisanship
The Chinese phoenix at the centrepiece of this stunning coin has been individually crafted from rose gold and pave set pink diamonds. With its intricate plumage designed in three-dimensional relief,
the phoenix appears to be landing on the fabled paulownia tree.
According to legend the Chinese phoenix lived amid the branches of these trees, and their white and violet flowers, but fed only on morning dew to avoid harming any plants or animals. Struck in 99.99% pure gold, the tree also has three of its flowers handset with pink diamonds. Inscribed on the coin’s reverse are the words ‘THE JEWELLED PHOENIX’ and the Chinese character for phoenix, as well as The Perth Mint’s historical ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as Australian legal tender under the Currency Act 1965, the coin features on its obverse the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination.
Extremely Limited Mintage
The Jewelled Phoenix 2018 10oz Gold Coin has a maximum mintage of no more than eight, a number symbolising good fortune in Chinese culture.
Exquisite Packaging and Numbered Certificate
This splendid coin is housed in a black display case resembling a classic Chinese cabinet, which opens to reveal the coin behind a Perspex screen. It is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
