Known as the ‘Maneki–neko’, the lucky cat figurine is found in temples, businesses and homes around the world. The popular talisman is represented on the reverse of this colourful coin among oriental symbols of fortune and prosperity.
Lucky Coin Design
The coin's reverse depicts a caricature of a lucky white cat with its right paw raised against a background featuring representations of traditional coins and the Chinese characters for ‘abundant year after year’. The cat is holding a carp which is symbolic of abundance. The design also includes The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Themed Packaging and Numbered Certificate
More than a coin, this rectangular collectable is presented in a beautifully designed display case which houses a lucky cat figurine sitting on a red cushion. The left arm of the cat figurine can be waved symbolising a welcoming gesture. To its left is the coin’s display casing on a bed of gold coins.
