As a result of much lower mintages and higher circulation rates than the full sovereign, the half sovereign is extremely scarce and as such highly sought after by collectors. Each of the Perth Mint Sovereign Trio sets comprise three gold half sovereigns struck by The Perth Mint in 1900, 1909 and 1915, providing a window into the reign of three British monarchs.
Trio of Effigies
The reverse of each coin portrays Benedetto Pistrucci's classic St George and the dragon design and incorporates The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse of each sovereign depicts the Veiled Head Queen Victoria effigy struck on coins between 1893 and 1901, the right-facing portrait of King Edward VII on 1902 to 1910-dated coins, and King George V Large Head on those struck between 1911 and 1928.
Display Case Packaging
Sure to impress the most discerning of collectors, each set is displayed in a lush black timber case and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
