The 2013 Sydney ANDA Coin Show Special has been exclusively released by The Perth Mint and features a depiction of the spectacular World Heritage Site, Willandra Lakes.
The Willandra Lakes Region covers 2,400 square kilometres of semi-arid landscape in the Murray Basin in south-western New South Wales. The region encompasses dried saline lakebeds, saltbushes, grasses, sand dunes and a system of ancient lakes formed more than two million years ago.
Recognised for its geological significance and its record of Aboriginal settlement over a period of 50,000 years, the Willandra Lakes Region was added to the World Heritage List in 1981.
Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver
The 2013 World Heritage Site – Willandra Lakes Region 1oz coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
The coin’s reverse represents the Willandra Lakes Region’s rugged landscape with a majestic Wedge-tailed Eagle perched on a tree branch. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark is also included in the design.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as Australian legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.
Extremely Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 of these World Heritage Site – Willandra Lakes Region 2013 1oz Silver Proof Coins.

The coin is housed in a Perth Mint display case and illustrated shipper with the Wedge-tail Eagle design alongside the ANDA logo. The coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
