This trio of commemorative coins pays homage to those who fought on the Western Front and in the Middle East during the First World War.
Much of the fighting during the First World War took place on the Western Front, the name given to a series of opposing lines of trenches that stretched 750 kilometres from the Belgian coast through France, and all the way to the Swiss border. However, equally as important was the Middle East Campaign fought by the allies against the Turkish Empire, in particular, the Palestine Campaign of 1917 which took place in the towns of Gaza and Beersheba.
