The history of the circulating coin design
Originally created by world renowned artists Stuart Devlin and Horst Hahne, the six designs within this set would have traditionally been recreated in shallow relief in plasticine and plaster. These skills have now evolved to encompass 3D modelling using the latest computer software. Skilled machinists then cut both the positive master tools and negative production dies, ready for artisan engravers to bring each design to life with layers of detailed frosting and polish.
