BATMAN™
First featuring in the 27th issue of the comic book Detective Comics created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bull Finger, BATMAN™ became a popular superhero of the DC universe. An alias of Bruce Wayne, a wealthy philanthropist and industrialist, BATMAN™ swears vengeance against criminals with his own personal vendetta to settle, tempered with justice. Since its inception in 2014, BATMAN™ Day has served as an annual celebration of one of DC Comics' most beloved characters. Occurring on the third Saturday of September, BATMAN™ Day offers fans and enthusiasts worldwide the opportunity to honour the hero’s enduring legacy.
Iconic character design
This rectangular coin displays a detailed, coloured image of the hero resembling the Jason Fabok cover of Detective Comics' 1000th edition released on 17 March 2019. The design portrays BATMAN™ looking down from the rooftops of Gotham City. The buildings behind him have been engraved with an antiqued finish.
Themed packaging
Each coin is held in an acrylic capsule and housed inside a compact, themed box with an iconic depiction of BATMAN™ on the front. Printed on the back of the box is a certificate of authenticity and the coin’s unique number in the mintage.
