50th anniversary

In Diamonds Are Forever, released five decades ago in 1971, Bond tracks SPECTRE boss Ernst Stavro Blofeld to the US where he discovers his evil nemesis is stockpiling diamonds to power a space-based laser weapon. Played by Sean Connery, 007 must neutralise the satellite and prevent the supervillain from carrying out his latest threat to global stability.

Diamond design

The coin portrays the iconic 007 gun logo beneath a representation of Bond’s family crest bearing the motto ORBIS NON SUFFICIT (the world is not enough) and the number 50. Surrounding these motifs is the legend ‘JAMES BOND DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER’ and two of the finest white diamonds each weighing approximately 0.08 carats.
