With over 20 years’ experience, glass artist Steven Kenny produces breathtaking glass sculptures from liquid molten borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is superior in strength and clarity to the less refined soda lime glass commonly used in glass artistry.

Each sculpture starts out as a borosilicate glass rod. With the application of heat, the glass becomes workable and molten at around 1260’C and is shaped using a freehand technique called Lampworking. The finished sculpture is then annealed in a kiln and fired to 600’C to strengthen and protect the piece from future cracking.

22 carat gold highlights are applied to each piece and placed back in the kiln to allow the glass to adhere to the gold. To finish the process, each piece is individually inspected to ensure it’s finished to the highest standard and quality.

Each piece is presented in a premium gold box, making it the ultimate gift.
