AQUAMAN™

Arthur Curry, better-known by the alias AQUAMAN™, debuted their superhuman and aquatic abilities in More Fun Comics #73 in November 1941. Created by artist Paul Norris and editor Mort Weisinger, AQUAMAN™ is a half-human, half-Atlantean superhero famous for his ability to survive on land and underwater, telepathically communicate with sea creatures, and power to control and manipulate water.

Anniversary emblem design

This coin has been shaped and coloured to resemble the emblem for AQUAMAN™, as worn on the belt of the hero’s armour. The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse along with the significant year of 2021 – 80 years since AQUAMAN™’s first appearance in More Fun Comics #73.
