Illustrated game design

The rectangular coin displays a detailed design featuring artwork inspired by the beloved game in colour and frosted engraving.  The five points of the pentagon depict each of the five colours or play styles a player can choose from. Each colour represents different philosophies, determining the magic the player will wield and the type of land they will draw resources from. The entire background is in a mirror-finish to further contrast the coloured design. Also featured on the reverse is the Magic: The Gathering logo and the number ‘30’ signifying the anniversary.

Themed packaging

Each coin is held in a translucent acrylic case, and housed inside a compact, themed box resembling of a deck of Magic: The Gathering cards. On the back of the box is a certificate of authenticity and the coin’s unique number in the mintage.
