90 years of Monopoly

Monopoly first entered the scene in 1935, and since then it has become an enduring phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. Introduced to the United Kingdom by Waddingtons, a game company based in Leeds, England, it traditionally features locations in London, but the board game has since sparked editions featuring British landmarks and other locations. At the heart of family gatherings, the mischief and mayhem of Monopoly helps bring families together to create memories they can cherish for a lifetime.

Anniversary design

The coin's reverse design includes elements of the game such as player tokens, property cards and Mr. Monopoly. Also on the reverse is the inscription '90 YEARS OF MONOPOLY'. The obverse depicts the official coinage portrait of H.M. King Charles III, created by Martin Jennings.
