Story

Koala charm

The koala is famed for its close bond with eucalyptus trees, which provide both nourishment and shelter. This endearing marsupial spends most of its life nestled among the eucalyptus leaves, finding comfort and safety in their canopy. The trees’ distinctive aroma creates a calming environment, perfectly suited to the koala’s peaceful nature. As a result, the koala has become a cherished symbol of Australia’s rich and unique biodiversity.

Stunning pink gold gilding

The coin’s reverse portrays a koala clinging to a tree trunk amongst eucalyptus foliage. The koala and the coin’s rim are gilded in 22-carat pink gold. Included on the reverse are the inscriptions ‘KOALA’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, as well as the coin’s weight, purity and 2025 year-date.
