And while it may be adept at snatching food from your barbeque or picnic table, the kookaburra enjoys a varied menu in the wild - insects, earthworms, frogs, fish, mice, or even venomous snakes!

To celebrate the 35^th anniversary of the iconic Australian Kookaburra, the coin’s reverse depicts a majestic kookaburra perched on a tree branch, with radiant lines symbolising a sun burst. The reverse also includes the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA 35^th ANNIVERSARY’, the coin’s weight, purity and 2025 year-date, along with The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
