Featuring a spectacular blue sapphire this 1 kilo silver gemstone edition is a limited offering from the Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series II and features the Year of the Dog design.

Sparkling blue sapphire

The reverse of the coin depicts a coloured German shepherd dog and pup lying in grass with Chinese peony flowers in the background. The dog has a blue sapphire set into its eye. The Chinese character for 'dog' and the inscription 'Year of the Dog' also appear in the design with The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark.
