Story

Chinese lunar zodiac

According to the lunar calendar, the Year of the Horse occurs between 17 February 2026 and 5 February 2027. Babies born during this time are said to be blessed with the horse’s independence, charisma, and love of adventure.

Cute baby horse design

The coin’s reverse portrays a coloured representation of a happy young horse resting on grass adorned with delicate flowers and a dragonfly fluttering above. The Chinese character for ‘horse’, the inscription ‘YEAR OF THE HORSE’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark are also incorporated in the design.
