Chinese New Year 2020
Chinese New Year is one of the most important celebrations for Chinese people across the globe. It is a time for families to reunite, as well as honour deities and ancestors. Portraying a lion dance, this Stamp and Coin Cover honours the traditional performance which brings luck, fortune and prosperity into a community during important festivals.
Lion dance design
The reverse of the coin features a coloured representation of a Chinese lion dance surrounded by ancient Chinese coins, flowers and lanterns. Also included in the design are the Chinese characters ‘恭喜发财’, a common phrase said to wish one a happy and prosperous New Year, and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Australia Post stamps
The envelope includes two 2020 Year of the Rat official Australia Post stamps valued at $4.40 and an exclusive Lunar New Year post mark for the first date of issue, 8 January 2020. The envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity.

The envelope design features a stunning coloured representation of a Chinese dragon. Also included are the words ‘HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR 2020’ as well as its unique issue number and limit.
