The Australian Kookaburra is a sought-after coin series featuring annual designs of our iconic ‘laughing’ bird. In 2023, four coloured privy mark issues will be issued to mark ANDA Money Expo events in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney.
Coloured privy mark
The Sydney Money Expo ANDA Special portrays two kookaburras perched on the branches of a shrub displaying the flowers of Australian native waratah. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design includes a coloured privy mark representation of a kookaburra, which has been the bird emblem of New South Wales since 1971.
Memorial Obverse
This coin portrays the official ‘Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse’, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign – ‘1952 – 2022’.
Coin show packaging
The coin is housed in an illustrated presentation card featuring ‘SYDNEY MONEY EXPO ANDA SPECIAL’ and the Australasian Numismatic Dealer’s Association’s logo. The back of the card features a fold-out stand for upright display.
