Year of the ox

Kind, intelligent, hardworking, calm, honest and reliable, the ox is said by followers of the lunar calendar to bestow many positive characteristics on people born during its years of influence – including 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009 and 2021.

Charmed design

The release incorporates a gold-plated charm resembling an ox. Surrounded by artistic portrayals of oxen among floral motifs, the bead rotates on a pin which holds it securely in the middle of the coin. Featuring The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the coin surface has been ‘antiqued’ to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact.
