2026 Sovereign design

Struck from 22-carat yellow gold in proof quality, the reverse of this sovereign showcases Benedetto Pistrucci’s timeless St George and the Dragon design that has defined the Sovereign family for over 200 years.  Also included on the reverse are the designer's initials 'B.P.' and the 2026 year-date. The obverse features Martin Jennings’ definitive portrait of King Charles III, connecting this modern rarity to Britain’s living monarchy. 'CHARLES III' and the Latin phrase 'DEI · GRA · REX · FID · DEF' are inscribed on the obverse, translating to 'Charles III, by the grace of God, King, Defender of the Faith'.
