100 years of Ford Australia
The best-known Ford in Australia was the Falcon, with more than 3.5 million vehicles produced here between 1960 and 2016. Originally based on an American design, over the decades it was increasingly adapted to Australian conditions. The XP Falcon, praised for its strength, reliability and refined driving dynamics, was produced in 1965–66, and was the first Ford to win Australia’s Wheels magazine Car of the Year Award.
XP Falcon design
The coin’s reverse features a coloured image of a Ford XP Falcon, set against a background of a tyre pattern. Included in the design is the Ford 100 Years logo and the inscriptions '100 YEARS OF FORD AUSTRALIA 2025' and ‘XP FALCON - 1965’.
Australia Post stamp
The official $1.70 Australia Post stamp features the Ford XP Falcon against a vintage black and white illustration of the vehicle. The official postmark comprises the official Ford 100 Years logo, accentuated by three stars on either side and the wording '1 DECEMBER 2025 GEELONG VIC 3220'.
Presentation envelope
The coin is housed in a light teal-coloured presentation envelope with a depiction of the iconic automobile. Also featured are the inscriptions '1965' and 'XP FALCON', along with the official Ford 100 Years logo.
