Black Panther

For 60 years, Marvel’s Black Panther has inspired generations as one of the most iconic and trailblazing superheroes ever created. First appearing as T’Challa, King of Wakanda, in Fantastic Four #52 in 1966, Black Panther introduced readers to a remarkable hero whose intelligence, determination, and vision redefined the comic book landscape.

As Marvel celebrates the character’s 60th anniversary, Black Panther’s extraordinary legacy continues to grow, embodying courage, innovation, leadership, and hope.

60th anniversary design

The coin's reverse design features Black Panther, shown in a dynamic, forward-moving pose. Black Panther is wearing the iconic sleek black suit, highlighted with shades of purple and violet that accentuate the contours of the muscular form. Fine geometric and tribal-inspired line patterns flow across the suit, adding depth and a futuristic Wakandan aesthetic. Around the neck is the distinctive panther-tooth necklace, a signature element of the character's costume. The background features jagged rock formations.  Also included in the design are the official Marvel and Black Panther 60 Years logos, and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark.
