Much-loved marsupial

The Australian Koala is a sought-after coin series featuring annual designs of the much-loved marsupial. Sleepy and docile, koalas spend most of their time either resting or eating gum leaves among Australia’s eucalyptus forests.

Pink gold gilding

The coin portrays a superbly detailed high relief image of a koala climbing a tree branch with a ‘joey’ clinging to its back. The beguiling artistry is further highlighted with 22-carat pink gold gilding, which has also been applied to the coin’s rim and edge. Included on the reverse are the inscriptions ‘KOALA’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, and year-date.
