Gold leaps ahead of stocks in latest opinion poll
The latest Gallup Poll Social Series (GPSS) examining public opinion on finance and economy confirms that gold bypassed stocks and mutual funds and moved into second place as ‘best long-term investment’ in the US in 2023, the first time since 2013.
According to the GPSS, “… higher rates seem to have dampened investors’ perception of real estate as the best long-term investment…”. That said, real estate still remains in first place. However, in April, “the number of Americans naming gold as the best long-term investment almost doubled this year from last.”
