Story

Australian koala

The Koala is a unique Australian marsupial recognised by its bear-like face and thick grey fur. This tree dwelling creature is believed to get its name from the Indigenous words, meaning ‘no drink’. This is because the koala sources its hydration from a specific variety of eucalyptus leaves and is only seen to drink in drought situations or when ill. This marvellous marsupial is found in a range of habitats, from coastal islands and tall eucalypt forests to inland woodlands.
