150th anniversary design

Struck from aluminium bronze, the Australian coin in this Stamp and Coin Cover portrays a representation of an early Australian school house with a teacher and students. Also included in the design is the inscription ‘150TH ANNIVERSARY OF FREE, SECULAR & COMPULSORY EDUCATION IN AUSTRALIA’, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Illustrated presentation envelope

The coin comes in an illustrated envelope portraying an early school house and a Certificate of Education issued by the Victorian Education Department. The envelope also features Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity

The Australia Post $1 commemorative stamp affixed to the envelope is stamped with a book-shaped postage mark accompanied by the words ‘FIRST DAY OF ISSUE 11 OCTOBER 2022 MELBOURNE VIC 3000.
