Story

VITALITY. POWER. NOBILITY.

For collectors of exclusive objets d'art, The Jewelled Horse is an Australian numismatic masterpiece of mesmerising style and sophistication. Celebrating the significance of the horse in Chinese culture, it’s crafted from 10oz of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality with breath-taking skill and assiduous attention to detail.

In the face of such scarcity, and befitting the enormous skill, patience and time required to fashion this sublime embodiment of equine vitality, power and nobility, The Jewelled Horse is the rarest of collectables.

Scenic Chinese design

Struck from 10oz of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality, the coin’s reverse artistry portrays a branch of Jasmine flowers and undulating countryside with nearby hills topped by pagodas. As well as the Chinese character for horse, which is derived from a pictogram of a standing horse with a flowing mane, it also incorporates the inscription THE JEWELLED HORSE and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Jewelled horse

The coin’s pièce de résistance is a dazzling 18-carat rose gold representation of a rearing horse, pavé-set with 169 specially selected fancy intense, vivid pink and purplish pink Argyle diamonds weighing 2.76 carats.

Two golden coloured diamonds from the Argyle Diamond Mine represent the horse’s eyes. Interest in these rare gems has soared to new heights since the famous mine in Western Australia closed its operations in November 2020.

Limited edition of eight

Befitting the enormous skill, patience and time required to craft a numismatic masterpiece of this magnitude, just eight of these stunning objets d'art will be released.

Accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, each coin is presented in a luxury, cabinet-style case featuring double-doors embellished with pink gold motifs and two additional Argyle pink diamonds. Inside, the illuminated coin continuously rotates through 360 degrees with mesmerising style and sophistication.

On display

The splendour of The Jewelled Horse will be on display at The Perth Mint shop at 310 Hay Street, East Perth until sold out.
