No silver shortage

As Australia’s leading precious metals refinery, we can assure you there is no shortage of silver, it just isn’t in the specific forms being requested by our customers which is putting pressure on manufacturing operations. View full update from Chief Commercial Officer Sawan Tanna.

Unallocated silver - The Perth Mint

Unallocated silver held via a Perth Mint Depository account is fully backed by allocated/physical metal that is held as part of our operational inventory. While we have sufficient supply, there may be some delays in completing collection requests due to current increases in demand for this service.

High demand for products

Due to high demand for our products, we are experiencing delays in order processing and dispatch (including click & collect). In addition, our enquiry volumes are higher than usual, resulting in longer response times across the business including Customer Operations, Depository, in-store and online.

In-store wait times

Due to influx of visitors to our store, wait times for purchasing bullion have increased significantly. We are managing demand with a queuing system, which is reaching capacity much earlier than usual. We urge you to arrive early. 

It is imperative you note the ID requirements before your visit, or contact the customer operations team for guidance to ensure you understand the requirements.
