Perth Mint offers condolences to The Royal Family
The Perth Mint today expressed sympathy to The Royal Family with the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II overnight.
“On behalf of The Perth Mint I would like to express our sincere condolences to The Royal Family on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” Perth Mint CEO Jason Waters said.
“As a former branch of the Royal Mint we are proud to have used the Queen’s effigy on our coins over the course of her term as reigning monarch.”
“As a mark of respect, The Perth Mint will not produce any coin bearing the Queen’s effigy today.
“Our Australian flag will fly at half-mast for 10 days at both The Perth Mint and the refinery.”
“The Queen has had a significant lifetime of achievements, many of which have been featured on Perth Mint coins, including her Platinum Jubilee this year.”
For enquiries regarding the transition to a new effigy, please contact the Department of the Treasury media office on firstname.lastname@example.org.
