The Perth Mint has unveiled the Kimberley Sunset ring, a one-of-a-kind piece crafted in 18ct Australian Origin Gold™ and featuring three rare Argyle Pink Diamonds™ from Rio Tinto’s Beyond RareTM Tender: The Art Series.

Totalling 0.85 carats, stones of this calibre have become increasingly scarce following closure of the Argyle Diamond Mine in 2020, further enhancing their rarity and appeal.

Handcrafted over more than 160 hours in collaboration with Argyle Pink Diamonds Icon Partner™ John Glajz, the ring showcases the expertise required to work with some of the world’s rarest diamonds.

A rare 0.55 carat round brilliant cut 3P Argyle Pink Diamond ™ is framed by two 0.15 carat pear brilliant cut 2P Argyle Pink Diamonds ™ while a further 226 pink diamonds, including Fancy Intense Purplish Pink and Fancy Intense Pink stones, create a graduated display of colour.

The design draws inspiration from the Kimberley landscape and the changing colours experienced at sunset. A hidden boab tree motif beneath the setting pays tribute to the East Kimberley region and pays homage to The Perth Mint's long standing Masterpiece coin creations.

The Perth Mint General Manager Retail, Tina Kircher, said the Kimberley Sunset ring was among the most significant pink diamond creations produced by the Mint.

"The Kimberley Sunset ring brings together some of Australia's rarest natural treasures in a single piece," Ms Kircher said.

"With three diamonds from the exclusive Beyond RareTM Tender at its centre, and no new supply following the closure of the Argyle Diamond Mine, it represents an extraordinary level of rarity.

"Just as remarkable is the craftsmanship behind the ring, with more than 160 hours devoted to create a piece worthy of these exceptional diamonds."

The Kimberley Sunset ring is available for purchase and is priced at AUD $899,000.
