Please note The Perth Mint will be Closed Australia Day (Tuesday 26 January 2021).
With the further easing of WA’s COVID-19 restrictions, The Perth Mint is pleased to advise changes to its Shop, Exhibition and Bullion operating hours.
Shop
Open daily from 9am to 5pm.
Closed Australia Day (Tuesday 26 January 2021).
Exhibition
The Gold Exhibition tour will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm.

Bullion Trading
Bullion trading available weekdays only (Closed Australia Day Tuesday 26 January 2021).
The Perth Mint will continue to buy unwanted gold during The Perth Mint Shop opening hours.
Covid
To minimise risk to the public and its staff, and to safeguard its essential production services, the Mint wishes to advise that the following precautions will continue to be enforced:
- Temperature testing for all visitors
- Social distancing of 1.5m between patrons at all times

Watch a gold pour 
Witness the amazing spectacle of a traditional gold pour in our original 1899 melting house, during which pure gold is heated to molten temperatures and, as it cools, transforms into a gleaming solid gold bar.
The one tonne gold coin 
The centrepiece of our remarkable Gold Exhibition is the Australian Kangaroo One Tonne Gold Coin, the largest and most valuable coin in the world. Tipping the scales at a massive one tonne of 99.99% pure gold, this colossal coin measures nearly 80cm wide and 13cm deep.
Awarded a prestigious Guinness World Record in 2012, this monumental masterpiece is valued at more than $60million and is showcased in all its golden glory on a revolving platform.
